What Are No Content And Low Content Books?

No Content Books is literally a no-content book kind of book. It only consists of blank pages and blank lines. It is essentially a journal. As you know, journals are just blank lines or consist of plain pages. No Content Books are easier to make, so if you plan either making no content books or low content books, I suggest making no content books first before diving to create Low Content Books.

Now, onto Low Content Books. Just as its name, it is a book with a little to some content inside. It could be a fitness tracker, a recipe book, a gratitude journal, an event planner, and a weekly or monthly planner. The best way to describe a low-content book is that it is somewhat a book that, instead of a story, is a day-to-day event that is really happening. You can also compare it to printables, wherein it's a book format where people can write down their own habits, recipes, and gratitude.

Keyword Research

This is how you’ll get the best search results by getting your correct keywords.

Bad Keyword Method

Bad keyword method is that type of making keywords that are not focused on the title and subtitle. One thing that should be done in inputting keywords is to focus on the relevant words or topic to your title and subtitle. Some people may find it hard in generating keywords because they want to be creative, it is fine to be unique but if you want people to find you on search results, you may have to shift your keywords around. Another thing that makes it a bad keyword method is when you are using brand names instead of author names. This a reminder that Amazon doesn’t prefer using brand names, but they prefer author or pen names. There are also instances that Amazon may not publish your book because of using brand names. If you have questions in regard to this with Amazon, you can always reach their customer support to see any tips and tricks. The next one is not using the exact phrase. You should use the exact phrase to your keywords so that when people search your key phrases, they’ll be able to find your books. Another is stuffing broad keywords. You don’t want to stuff broad keywords but instead, use relevant keywords. Lastly, avoid using the same keywords from the title and subtitle. Choose keywords that are relevant and related.

Top Keyword Method

The top keywords method is the method that you should follow in generating keywords. You should use keywords that are relevant to your book. And use the exact keyword phrases. By using the right keyword method, your book will be more discoverable.

Title and Subtitle

In the title, as usual, you’ll fill in the title of your book. While on the subtitle, you can add a substitute title or input keyword phrases. Remember the importance of keywords. Mind you that Amazon is like Google, if you type out keywords or phrases, relevant topics will pop out, and you could use those for your keywords.

7 Boxes Keyword

With the 7 boxes keyword, you have to worry about the relevant keywords that relate to your books. Be sure that it is suitable for your content, book or journal. A question that would be a great help in generating a keyword is asking yourself, “What would I type/search if I want to find this book?”. Furthermore, you can use research tools and keyword methods. For additional information, you can go to Incognito or AMZ Suggestion Expander to research keywords.

How To Make Book Interior

You can use any editing tools in creating a book interior, but I am with this blog, I am going to use Canva. As mentioned, Canva is free and beginner-friendly.

Step 1: Log in to your account/Create an account

Step 2: Customize the size

The usual size would be 8.5 x 11.25, but to avoid bleeding or when the text expands from the border, you can increase your size. In my case, I’ve set it as 8.625 x 11.25

Step 3: Create your book's interior

You can now start creating your interior. Feel free to explore Canva if you are new and if you aren’t, you can proceed to do your interior, or you can check out some layouts. Just remember to format your font properly. Make your interior simple and easy to understand so that there would be a wide range of people to be able to use it.

Step 4: Make a copy

Make a copy of your finished interior and, on the copied file, duplicate it 100 times or for how many pages you wanted your book would be.

Step 5: Download

After you’ve created several copies, download it as a PDF file and save it on your computer. Make sure everything is perfect.

How To Make A Book Cover

Now that you are finished with making your book interior, you are now going to create your book cover. We are still using Canva and if you have set your interior size to 8.625 x 11.25, you have to set your book cover to 17.49 x 11.25. This dimension will include the front, back and spine.

Step 1: Create a border

You have to separate the blank canvas into 3 parts. The front, spine and back. Be sure to have the same exact borderlines. The reason for having a borderline is to prevent yourself from going over the parts of the cover. Don’t worry you can delete the border once you have finished designing, it is simply a guide.

If you are having a hard time creating one, here is a link to my free book cover template: https://edwinkim.gumroad.com/l/book-cover-template

Step 2: Design your cover

As per usual, design your cover however you want. Be sure to stick to the theme of your book. You can also visit Creative Fabrica to find background textures.

Step 3: Download

After you are done and satisfied with your design, go ahead and download it as PDF Print.

Upload to Kindle Publishing

With your finished interior and cover, you can use KDP to publish your book. Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) is a publishing e-book platform by Amazon. You have to have an account before publishing.

Step 1: Go to Paperback

Step 2: Input Details

  • Put your Book Title and Subtitle

  • If your book has an Edition Number, put it as well

  • Put your name/pen name as the Author

  • If there is a Contributor, add it as well

  • Fill in the Description

  • Be sure and mark the Publishing Rights

  • Fill in keywords

Remember how to input correct keywords, apply it here. You may use research tools or keyword extensions to find keywords.

  • Fill in the correct Category

  • Be sure to mark if your work consists of Adult Content or not.

  • Save and Continue

Step 3: Input Content

  • Mark Get A Free KDP ISBN

  • You can either fill in the Publication Date or not

  • Select your Print Options

For your size, don’t input the size with the bleed, instead input the original size, which is 8.5 x 11.25. The reason for that is that there would be an option that will ask if it's No Bleed or Bleed (PDF Only) and you’ll select bleed to that.

  • The Manuscript is your book interior, which has multiple pages.

  • Upload your book cover

To check your book preview, click Launch Preview. Check if everything fits and is complete.

  • Save and Continue

Step 4: Input Rights and Pricing

  • Mark All Territories

  • Input your desired price

Step 5: Publish Your Paperback Book

Amazon Auto Ads

This is a step-by-step tutorial on how to set up Amazon ads easily:

Step 1: Go to your published book

Step 2: Promote and Advertise

  • Look for the three dots

  • Click Promote and Advertise

  • Choose a Marketplace

  • Create an Ad Campaign

  • Choose Sponsored Product

Step 3: Create a Campaign

  • Input your Book Title on the Campaign Title

  • Decide your Start Date and End Date for your campaign.

If you don’t want to end it, or you just want to end it manually, you can set your end date to No End Date

  • Set your Daily Budget

  • Set targeting to Automatic and Campaign Bidding Strategy

In my case, I’ve set targeting to Automatic and for bidding strategy to Dynamic Bids-Down Only

  • Set your Ad Format

  • Set your Default Bid

You can set your default bid.

Step 4: Launch Campaign

Amazon Ads on Manual Products

The steps for Amazon Ads on manual products are somewhat the same as Amazon Auto Ads. You just have to set your campaign name, start and end date, and daily budget, as well as select manual targeting, dynamic bids, and standard ad format. Then search for and add specific categories and individual products that are similar to the book being advertised, to find relevant categories. In adding ads on manual products, you can add other types of products that are related to the book, to expand the reach of the campaign.

Amazon Ads Manual Keywords

Apply the steps on Amazon Auto Ads but in selecting Targeting instead of automatic targeting, you will select Manual Targeting. Fill in the information below and once you’ll reach Manual Targeting, select Keyword Targeting. With that, input relevant keywords, use keyword methods or use research tools to find keywords for Amazon advertising. You can use software called Publisher Rocket. Using the software, find at least 1000 keywords related to the product being advertised. Also, I suggest using the results of previous keyword searches to find new keywords. Keywords are really important in Amazon advertising because each keyword sets the bid. And lastly, to keep bid prices low, avoid spending too much on advertising.

And that’s all for this tutorial!

Remember to use any tools that you are comfortable with, Happy making!
